SAVE Y - AN ENDANGERED SPECIES! Our chromosomes determine whether we will develop a male body or a female body when we are forming in the womb. The woman has two X chromosomes. The man has an X and a Y chromosome. In the act of conception, both the mother and the father contribute a chromosome to the child. If the man contributes another X chromosome, the child will be a female. If the man contributes a Y chromosome, the X and the Y will cause the child to be a male. Did you know that the Y chromosome is outnumbered by the X chromosome by THREE to ONE? Will we gradually stop producing male children? Let's talk about it with Myeka.
