When people have disagreements, but have agreed prior to the disagreement that physical violence is not an option, they choose to talk and reason with each other. (Such as a husband and wife in an argument.) In other cases, however, some people may approach disagreements with the attitude "I know how to settle this, I'll just go and get my gun and shoot you!" This can be seen on the street level with gangs and on the international level with governments. It's the same attitude, and it leads to shooting and death as a way to solve disagreements. It has to stop. The Heavenly World Peace Culture of Light (HWPL) and the International Women's Peace Group (IWPG) have launched a global drive for peace by getting heads of governments to sign peace agreements stating that they are willing to make war illegal, and therefore not an option to solving disagreements. HWPL/IWPG has had tremendous success with national leadership. Many heads of nations have signed the agreement. Can this same strategy be used to stop violence between "street nations" aka "gangs"? In a special Peace Ceremony to be held May 20 at the AMC Center on  4421 S, State at 3:30pm, followed by a Peace Walk through the community at 5:00pm, residents will join elected officials, community leaders and activists in urging a written commitment to ending the violence.
