Fear. False Evidence Appearing Real.  Fear is the emotion used to stir up racial hatred and bigotry. Whites in America have deep fears of loss of authority over others, loss of privilege, loss of wealth, and perhaps even fear that others will inflict violence upon them. The hysteria created by the 911 plane crashes manifest as irrational fear against Muslims and anybody of Middle Eastern origin - Arabs, Pakistanis, Iranians, Afganistanis, Iraqis - and so any American citizen of these origins is constantly subjected to intense scrutiny. Urban violence is at epidemic levels and the news media's constant reports of gun toting black males creates another irrational fear that every black male is a gun toting killer. Then there is the image of the hispanic Illegal alien, slipping into the country, likely also smuggling drugs, and taking away all the low paying jjobs, according to the popular stereotype. So when Presidential candidate Donald Trump speaks against these groups of people, he plays into the fears of white America.  Fear creates a climate for violence and repression. Will a Trump presidency lead to more government condoned public killings of African Americans by police? Will it lead to  widescale deportation of spanish speaking immigrants, people who profess the Islamic faith, and those who appear to be of Middle Eastern origin? Will it lead to unjust imprisonment of those who speak out as political dissidents? Are we looking at another Hitler? Or is this just a rich man having fun getting international media attention by making outrageous statements that get people all riled up?
