According to news reports, racism apparently drove journalist Bryce Williams of Virginia to commit murder and then suicide. Graphic video footage records him shooting to death two colleagues on live television, in a shocking, televised murder. He described himself as "a powder keg ready to explode." How many who are tired of enduring racial oppression are "read to explode?" Is there a peaceful way to end this hostility between blacks and whites? The suggestion has been made that the key to changing the climate of racially motivated violence and injustice is to withhold financial support of particular businesses. Today we examine which businesses finance those who perpetrate violence, which businesses finance elected officials that refuse to enact fair laws, which businesses prop up a system of injustice and how can we stop buying from those businesses, put them out of business, and still supply our own needs.
