Are You Ready For Marriage? Take The Test and See

In the book Slavery: The African American Psychic Trauma by Sultan Latif and Naimah Latif, Chapter 10 is entitled "Modern Marriages: Why They're Not Working." It examines how our parents' relationship shapes our own understanding of how to form a healthy relationship.  Some of us grew up in happy homes, butr many of us have already been programmed for disaster, based on what we observed growing up. How do you find a compatible person and form a lasting marriage? Were your parents happily married? Were they miserable together and eventually divorced? Were they never married and only saw each other occasionally? Was one parent absent and you never knew them? We review the Marriage Test at the end of the chapter to help you see what areas you need to address in your current relationship in order to keep it harmonious.
