The Los Angeles Catholic Worker (LACW) community feeds, shelters, clothes, and seeks justice for the people who live on Los Angeles' increasingly turbulent Skid Row. Talkupy with Annie Lindstrom welcomes Jeff Dietrich, who has served with LACW for 42 years, to the show on Tuesday, August 14 at 11 a.m. Eastern Time. Founded in 1970, LACW is a lay community that works outside the institutionalized structures of the church. Supported only by donations, and with the help of volunteers, LACW members live in the heart of Skid Row and serve 3000 meals a week to their neighbors. They also conduct protests against unfair treatment and harassment of the homeless, as well as other injustices they feel called to voice.
