“We’re going to have to redesign the social compact,” Obama said. “And I know how to build a bridge to that new social compact.”  Obama was talking about how if Trump was elected (as he became Prez), the negotiation of American citizens will have be renegotiated on a number of issues.

He also stated in the New Yorker that Trump's election was not the apocalypse.  However, many of the actions Trump has taken have been risky and global changing in my opinion, the radio host.  He has shaken up diplomacy with Europe.  He has treaded in tantalizing bargaining with Kim Jong Un.  And he decided to move the embassy in Israel from Haifa to Jerusalem, which was mandated by Congress since 1995 but no action had been taken.

“This is not the apocalypse,” Obama said. History does not move in straight lines; sometimes it goes sideways, sometimes it goes backward.  Jane Hoffman, political scientist, will analyze the underscore of Obama's projection of Trump and explain it in terms of the last 18 months.
