We live in a 'representative republic', but that representation no longer exists as our founding fathers had intended it to be. Can the repael of the 17th amendment restore that representation? We will look at this question and some of the answers. We will also begin to look at some of the influences various special interest groups and the "powers that be" have had over politics in this nation, and the continued growth of that influence over our daily lives.
