Robert S. Hoover, MD received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry Magna Cum Laude from Howard University and his M.D. degree from UCLA. He was an intern and resident in internal medicine at Emory University and a fellow in nephrology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital as well as Vanderbilt University. He then served on faculty at Vanderbilt, Yale and the University of Chicago prior to coming onto faculty at Emory University, where he is currently the Assistant Professor of Medicine and Physiology. Dr. Hoover investigates salt handling by the kidney and its impact on blood pressure. His areas of clinical expertise are Hypertension and Chronic Kidney Disease.
