Farm City Day - Erica Preston Soil /Water Conservation Sept 16, 2015 at 3:00 pm

3:00 Wednesday, September 16, 2015 South Centers Chat  with Dr. TOM WORLEY, Director of the OSU South Centers will feature Erica Preston, Education Coordinator with the Gallia County Soil and Water Conservation District.  Erica will discuss the upcoming Farm City Day on Saturday, September 26, 2015.  This Farm City Day shows the ‘younger generation’ how far agricultural technology has come and to inspire youth to consider becoming farmers.   Also, Erica, who makes many presentations to students and public, will discuss:   Soils and Testing for Water Filtration Rates; Identification of different Soil Types; Enviroscape – which demonstrates the water cycle in 3-D format and about where drinking water comes from as well as where waste water goes; Streamulater– shows floods, stream movement, oxbows, meandering streams, erosion, water cycle; and other different training programs.
