Over the last 16 years Katrina has continued to learn about mental health both through coursework and work in the field. Because field experience is such a valuable learning tool, prior to graduating from Fort Valley State University graduate program. Katrina secured a case manager position that would allow her to develop and understand mental health at a different level. Katrina worked on various new initiatives within the agency and county. Serving inner-city; low-income and minority communities. The program attempted to provide a wraparound approach to treatment for children and adolescents and their families with a severely emotional disturbance diagnoses (SED).

The event will educate visitors about the realities of life in poverty as well as provide an international experience to visitors who may not ever have the opportunity to travel abroad to a developing country.
