In 2010, due to the increasing demands of her services to survivors,  Ms. Mukeshimana founded Genocide Survivors Support Network (GSSN), a New Jersey-based charitable organization with a mission to help genocide survivors rebuild their lives and use their voices to contribute to genocide prevention though education and advocacy.  As a human rights  advocate, Ms. Mukeshimana frequently lectures on genocide and other human rights violation topics in conferences, schools, and other community groups to raise awareness about the crime of genocide and its impact on society. Ms. Mukeshimana personal experiences with violence and subsequent work with other refugees and asylum seekers, have inspired her to launch a Specialized Cross-cultural Communication Brokerage service to provide staff training and facilitate communication between immigrants with limited English language skills and providers of medical and social services.
