It amazes me how we have let the sacrifices of our ancestors be taken for granted. It wasn’t that long ago that we weren’t allowed to share bathrooms with other races or live in the same communities as they live. So much has been forgotten and I am in further amazement as to how many of our young people have no idea neither who Dr. King was nor what he stood for. They called Dr. King a Dreamer, but because of his dream we have been able to excel as a people of color. So tell me, why is it that we fail to teach our children and our children’s children the magnitude of the struggle? Why is it that we argue over gay rights and women’s rights but not over Human Rights?
