What should a pastor do?... "Brother" Smith, long time member, in good and regular standing, leaves and is gone away for 12 months. "He" then returns as "sister" Smith because of a "sex reassignment". "He" now wants to take up where "he" left off but wants to be treated and considered a female. Can "brother" Smith still hold membership? Should the congregation and pastor treat "him" as a female per "his" request?
