What is one of the most difficult statements for a parent to handle?

In today’s culture there are some very critical issues that we can no longer ignore. Being a responsible parent has been a challenge, especially for those in the Body of Christ, because of the adversarial environment and erroneous information children are exposed to everyday. Since it is a well-known fact that the enemy targets our children, we need to have a better understanding regarding the world they have to deal with and help prepare them for that world.

Because of the nationwide agenda to legitimize a lifestyle that is contrary to the will of God and detrimental to the stabilization of the family, more needs to be done to counter the effects of this  agenda. This really is a statement many parents dread to hear, a statement that has, in too many cases, torn a family apart. This statement is one that has created a dilemma that even many pastors find difficult to address. This statement in most cases are made by children who are confused and are struggling with unwanted emotions and desires they can’t explain, yet because these feelings are “real” to them, they embrace error and garner “detrimental” support from their peers who themselves are just as confused regarding this issue.

What is this statement? “ Mom, Dad, I’m homosexual. Join us tonight as we have “Coming Out Ministries” as our guest host. We will unfold the issues surrounding this statement and offer some practical and necessary resolutions for parents and ministry leaders. We will also address this issue from the position of the child and how parents can really avoid the experience of hearing this statement from their child.
