In my youth, my father was emotionally, verbally, and financially abusive to me. That abuse left a hole in my soul, one I've been committed to healing for decades.
I know men and women whose mothers died, left, or ignored them in their youth.
Abuse and absence of the parent leaves us feeling ABANDONED.
Then as adults, if we don't heal those wounds, we then abandon ourselves.
Self-Abandonment, that's our topic for this week's show. We will explore how and why we abandon ourselves, and what are the consequences. More importantly, how do we now show up for ourselves.
I'll be drawing from the wisdom of Dr. Margaret Paul, the author of Inner Bonding: Becoming a Loving Adult to Your Inner Child, and what I've learned about re-parenting the self on my journey to healing. I hope you'll join me on She Struts Radio, 6:30pm ET, as we explore ways to show up for self. To join the conversation, call 718.766.4468.
