On this week’s edition of Scottscope Talk Radio, the roundtable takes aim at the new Robocop remake!  Is it as bad as the reviews are suggesting?  Was director Jose Padhila forced to compromise his vision for the film?  Are critics and overzealous fans being simply being too harsh?  Have they allowed nostalgia to cloud their vision?  Does the remake have any redeeming qualities that are being ignored by the peanut gallery?  Does it maintain the same deft balance of satire and ultra-violence achieved by Paul Verhoven?  Does Joel Kinnaman engender the same level of Sympathy as Peter Weller?

We’ll also be celebrating the 35th anniversary of the Walter Hill’s immortal cult classic, The Warriors!  Does it rank as one of Walter Hill’s best?  Is it truly worthy of the cult status it has attained?  Is it merely a kitschy artifact of a bygone era that can only be loved “ironically”?  Is the aesthetic much too dated for modern audiences?  Could it actually be much more than even its most ardent supporters realize?  Is it actually a powerful meditation on the kinds of myths and legends that form the basis of modern action cinema?  Did it paint an accurate picture of gang warfare in New York City during the late 1970’s?  Does it bare any resemblence at all to Sol Yurick's source novel?  Can its exceedingly violent reputation be considered silly hindsight?

We’ll also be discussing the latest controversy involving Nicki Minaj?  Has she finally gone too far?  Why did she use that famous photo of Malcolm X as the coverart for her new single “Lookin’ Ass Nigga”?  Should she shoulder all of the blame?  Should fans be held just as accountable?  Does she lack any sense of shame or respect whatsoever?
