It’s the 2013 year-end edition of Scottscope Talk Radio!  This week, we’ll be reviewing Martin Scorcese’s latest foray into the world of crime (White-Collar crime, that is), The Wolf of Wall Street!  Does it deserve to be mentioned among Scorcese’s best?  Can it be considered a not so distant cousin to Goodfellas?  Is this Scorcese’s first true comedy since After Hours?  Is it a celebration of corruption on Wall Street, or a condemnation of it?  Does looking at the film through such a narrow scope do it justice?  Is Scorcese’s partnership with Leonardo DiCaprio proving to be just as fruitful as the one between Scorcese and De Niro?  Is the latter overly romanticized?

We’ll also be taking a look back on the year that was 2013.  What were some of the best movies?  What were some of the best rap albums?  Did Drake finally prove his naysayers wrong?  Are moviegoers finally getting tired of big summer blockbusters, particularly superhero films?  Is New York’s irrelevance to mainstream Hip-Hop a good thing?  Has the internet, coupled with portable media devices, completely destroyed the entertainment industry as it existed in decades prior?  Is that a good thing for consumers?  Does the breakdown of “the machine” guarantee better movies and music?  What can we expect in 2014?
