PETRA HOFFMANN AKA PETRABILITIES

Petra Hoffmann was diagnosed with Hepatitis C in 2008, and treated in 2010. Petra states that her “life as she knew it changed that day.” “Hepatitis C became the best thing that had ever happened to her.”

Petra made the painful decision to “come out of the closet” and went public with this highly stigmatized, life-threatening world PANDEMIC. She filmed her entire treatment, and shared her story with the world. This cost her dearly, in turn losing many of her closest family members, as well as life-long friendships.

Petra went on to write her own autobiography, a very painful, but therapeutic journey, as her own life had been filled with pain, loss, and addiction, and needed to be revisited.  She was on time released chemotherapy for Hepatitis C at the time, and Petra needed yet another outlet. She became a debuted artist with the Surrey Art Gallery in October 2011, and completed an online marketing course.

Then in May 2011, Petra Hoffmann founded Hepatitis C Global Initiatives, a federally registered NGO charity to aid people pre and post treatment, and to raise education and global awareness of this pandemic disease. The charity has since become one of the greatest sources for 24 hour Hepatitis C online news and education services (“Hep C 101,”)
