Talk Shows: Hall of Shame

As I prepare to move with my show onto a local NYC station, a much bigger and much more competitive market, I've been considering making a few modifications to the show's structure. While pondering such ideas, I could not help but think about some of the other talk shows that have come (and mostly gone, equally as fast) through the years.

So many talk shows fail within just a month or two of being on the air. Most of them...just God awful. What makes a talk show good? What did Oprah have that Megan Mullally clearly did not? Why does Conan thrive when Chevy Chase couldn't last five weeks? Let's discuss.
