Chip Kelly has taken over as the main man in San Francisco. The Colin Kaepernick of old may have been a perfect fit for the up-tempo offense that Kelly runs. However, after losing his starting job last season and enduring surgery, in the off-season, Kaepernick may be lucky to have spot on the bench.

In a non-football related issue, Kaepernick decided to sit during the National Anthem. He was quoted as saying to NFL Media, "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color." This silent statement has cause national controversy. Ian Rapoport obtained a statement from the NFL, "Players are encouraged but not required to stand during the playing of the national anthem." What are your thoughts? Do you think that Kaepernick can spearhead a change by sitting during the National Anthem?
