Today we will have author, Child and Family Therapist, Midge Noble with us to continue her series on Child Development. She will talk about about the challenges of adolescence. She says that they lose their sense of confidence, self esteem and self image with their bodies changing, externally and internally. Anger is a major part of their dispositions too and this becomes another problematic element in their lives. She will start at the age of 16. At the age of 16, a new level of independence starts to take place, so new interactions are necessary from the parents. Their brains are not yet developed to the point that they think they are, so more guidance from the parents is necessary.
