So many people are tired of their relationships turning sour or not working out. People crave real connection ~ to feel understood. We all want that. We want more people in our lives who “get us”. In our striving for that, we too often burn bridges that maybe didn’t need to be burned. Some of those relationships could’ve been salvaged or transformed with a little work, if that person meant something to you.

The fact is, we as a society have not learned how to have a healthy relationship. We haven’t been taught how to have difficult conversations, recover from arguments, compromise when our partner’s perspective counters our own, and thrive in long-term relationships without compromising our own values. A small percentage of couples succeed seemingly due to the luck of the draw. At least that’s what it looks like to those of us who have had a series of unsuccessful relationships.

All of these things can be improved upon in order to have healthier relationships. That has to start with us strengthening our relationships with people already in our lives. When we can do that, we naturally gravitate toward others of sound mind and heart who are willing to work at a healthy relationship. In the process, we heal our hearts from past pain. This is a personal healing journey, and the Journey to Real Love. My intention for 2022 is to create space and a path for that journey for anyone who is ready to walk it.
