Joy counts travel as one her three vices. Whether it’s heading off to a different country or heading down the freeway for a new cultural experience, she thrives on learning about the customs and lore of peoples across the globe, both present and past.

She started Siren School--where education is an adventure in self-discovery--to enable participants to take a vacation from the ordinary by immersing themselves in personas either factual or fictional for an hour up to a full weekend. Whether swimming in a mermaid tail with wild dolphins in the Bahamas, taking part in a New Orleans vampire hunt - on either side of the equation - or perhaps playing either a mobster or Fed at a 1920s speakeasy in Chicago, guests will feel transported into a different world and way of life.

Labeling herself an eventeur, her passion is planning theme events that marry food with entertainment. Many of them involve afternoon tea. The Tea Travellers Societea which she spearheads had hosted more than 60 themed tea events since its founding just over a year ago.

On Friday, July 22, noon PT/3 p.m. ET/8 p.m. UK, Joy will share with Purpose Talk Radio host details about how and why she has created the mythic adventures. Additionally, she will share about the next big travel opportunity for the group is October’s Ghastly Ghostly Train and Tea Trip, billed as a haunting hop-on / hop-off experience up the California coast. Guests will have the opportunity to pick and choose the legs of the trip they’d like to join, and are assured a good-natured spooky time, celebrating the Halloween season. Paranormal investigator Christina Nelson also will stop by to share.

You can participate during the live show via Skype or calling 347-205-9074. You also are invited to continue the online discussion either during the live or the archived listening on the Facebook group Purpose Talk Radio Conversations.
