Serenity Sisters

with Jill Meek & Anita Tucker

Shame!  It contributed to your addiction, and kept you from seeking help.  How did you overcome "shame"?  Tune in to the Serenity Sisters show with Jill Meek & Anita Tucker to hear how they identified this negative feeling, and over came it.

There's a difference between "shame" and "guilt".  Guilt is a result of something you have done.  In recovery there's a process to overcome guilt.  However, shame is a much different feeling.  "Shame" is believing that's what you are.  In addiction, believing in these lies we tell ourself feed our bad behaviors.  We're stuck with no perceived help.  As a result, we are blinded from our condition and don't seek help.  In turn this results in spiraling  our life further downward, ultimately to our darkest bottom.  At this low level in life the pain is so great that we finally cry out for help, and find it if we're lucky.

But for those who have found a new way of life, free from the bondage of shame, we have climbed up from our darkest moments into the sunlight and are now living a life better than we have ever expected.
