Left in the wake of this sea of corruption and red ink are millions of people who have lost their jobs and seen their retirement accounts decimated. This is the same financial marketplace the current administration now plans to entrust trillions of dollars of public funds as part of the campaign to privatize the social security system. But this should come as no surprise to the observers of American history. For some of the same ingredients that led to the crash of 1929 and gave way to the Great Depression is coming to fruition today.
