When people ask Denise Messenger why she wrote the newly released book Got Cancer? Now What: A Layperson’s Guide for the Newly Diagnosed, the answer is because of personal experience.  She never intended it to be that way or part of her life plan.

The book was written because she realized that when a patient is first diagnosed, the emotional toll it takes can be difficult and finding the time to research is even harder.  Cancer patients need guidance on how to manage the complex life changing events that happen. A book presenting information in a layperson’s language in a positive, inspirational and meaningful way in her view is needed to lessen the burden of a cancer diagnosis.
