PPI Member Spotlight: Daria James, Jazz Vocalist & Seasoned Choreographer

Guest: Jazz Vocalist/Long-time Choreographer and Pink Purse International Member, Daria James. Daria James, vocalist with the new jazz band, "Daria and the Goodfellas", http://www.bigpowerfulmedia.com/Daria/FeverLive.wmv is an accomplished singer, choreographer, dancer, actor, director, who performs in Houston, the heart of the Texas Arts scene. Ms. James is an Austin Circle of Theater award winner, who began her theatre/dance career at the University of Houston. She studied improvisation and puppetry with Kaiser Permanente’s Educational Theatre in D.C., where she was also a member of The National Deaf Dance Theatre Company. Ms. James worked for 7 years with Express Children’s Theatre, under Y.A. Bagersh, as a choreographer and director, and has worked with both the Houston Ensemble Theatre and the Summer Stock Theater in upstate New York. She is currently with Dionysus Theater Houston, and Main Street Theater’s Theater for Youth. Her additional theatre credits include performances with New Heights Theatre, Theater LaB, Kaplan Theatre, Kuumba House, Phylis Gooden-Young’s Dance Company, Miller Outdoor Theatre, The Wortham Theatre, dAdA, The Great Caruso, and numerous schools in the Houston area. Ms. James is also the host of “Build Green”, an HTV network (Houston municipal channel) environmental program. Her newest venture, Freedom Productions, is a non-profit venue for producing theatre, promoting artists, and connecting to the world.
