November is Emotional Wellness Month & Health Literacy Month plus National Family Literacy Month

Saturday November 26, 2013 Our Own Voices Live (OOVL) launched a groundbreaking conversation and series of discussions with Dr. Douglas Garner on Our Children’s Emotional Health and the Modern School System.

Some of the topics we plan to cover are:

Family Literacy Day with Dr. Pattie Thomas PH.D

An effort to provide books to anyone in the Vegas Valley who wants to start a home library.
We have over 1800 books to give away, 10 per person.
We have fiction and non-fiction....
We have books at all reading levels. Preschool through college. This is an opportunity for children of all ages to start a home library and learn to read well.

Renttext Vegas at CSN is providing the bags and they will be there with giveaways and prizes.

The Clark County Library will have a table and will be sharing information about local library resources and giveaways.
A Storybook reading corner will be available for kids.
Information on how to read textbooks will also be available.
