For Amanda, the love of Movement through Ballet at an early age informed her love of aliveness.  In the early 1990s her thirst to understand a deeper meaning of life led her to Insight Meditation, in her homeland New Zealand. With many endings in 2005, Amanda set off abroad into a life on the road, too investigate "Who Am I?" and "What is this life, really?", leading her to many meditation retreats and volunteer center positions in India, Europe and USA. Her biggest influence being Open Dharma and deep rest meditation, leading her to become a Jin Shin Jyutsu Practitioner in 2008 and retreat manager for OD retreats in California 2013 and 2014. She presently lives in Santa Cruz, CA with her husband Jay.

The talk "Being Moved by Life" is inspired by a Wendell Berry poem, along with an exploration into walking meditation during a long retreat in India with Open Dharma. (23 minutes)
