Season One: Episode 3; Planting the Seeds of Greatness

Tariq Muhammad, hails from Chicago IL, who is a junior attending the illustrious Tennessee State University! He is currently studying Agricultural Science with a concentration in Plant Sciences. Tariq is very active in programs and initiatves that are centered around enhancing the influence of agricultural sciences all over the world. He has participated in the MANRRS Regions 2 & 3 Cluster's Impromptu Speaking Contest. He was given a topic and had 20 minutes to prepare an oral presentation at the regional competition held during the event in Atlanta, Georgia. Out of the 9 other people from different Universities in the region, Tariq won first place, and will go to Nationals to compete this spring in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! And of course, all of the topics given were agriculture related, in which he presented how to sustain a community where there are food deserts, which was the same project he presented for the Ford Scholarship! Tariq's passion for agriculture makes him a great fit to solve problems such as food deserts, genetically modified organisms, lack of youth majoring in agriculture, and other agriculture related topics.
