Hot 97 on VH1, New NY hip hop releases, NY hip hop events!

Well, well. Hip Hop's "most important radio station" has gone Hollywood. If you can call VH1 "Hollywood." They announced "This is Hot 97," a new "reality show/comedy" to air on VH1, staring March 31. Since the self-proclaimed "home of hip hop" is often a topic of discussion here, we'll analyize this, and ask for YOUR opinions.

Aside from that, we're finally recovered from covering the SPKRBOX Hip Hop Theater Festival in Oslo, Norway. So we'll be back to talking about some interesting releases from NY-area hip hop artists.

The NY Hip Hop Report is a weekly talk show, featuring discussion regarding relevant New York hip hop topics, interviews with artists and other industry professionals and invites live caller participation. The program, started in 2012 by Birthplace Magazine founder Manny Faces, has included interviews with iconic figures such as Big Daddy Kane and Video Music Box’s Ralph McDaniels, as well as special shows, including an April, 2013 broadcast live from the 10th annual L’Original Festival, a yearly international hip hop festival in Lyon, France.
