State of the Union Address is Delivered by Presidents! Why?

Tonight President Obama will deliver the "State of the Union". The state of the union is an address made to congress by the president to share the condition of the country. The congress will hear things most likely the opposing side will not agree with. The first state of the union address was in 1790 given by then President George Washington. That address was about the condition of the country, but today the address is more about the vision the president has for the country. he President will do is
