"How Are Things Really?" #486

"Tiz The Season" will end in a few days and a new Season called 2K14 will take its place.  What will 2K14 be like?  Well, the new year will generally take on the flavor of your own prevailing beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors ... those which have guided you up to this point in your life. 

On a continual basis, we are fed a steady of news, videos, opinions, texts, Hollywood movies, media of all sorts.  Each of us has a selection of such that will guide, influence, even control our lives for this next year in ways like what to wear, what opinions we should have converning virtually everything.  He who is a slave to truth is a free man, and yet, we are told by most every media input what to think, feel, do, etc. 

I am reminded of C.S.Lewis' words, "It's never too late to set a new goal or dream a new dream" and those of Carl Rogers, "The good life is a process, not a state of being.  It is direction,not a destination."  This next year, let's play the role of the ever-shifting kaleidoscope, a slight change and all patterns alter.  Let's be receptive to what the Lord would have us do with regard priorities, goals, and dreams and see 2K14 unfold with excitement, inspiration, and new direction.
