Good evening. This is an interview with Alfred Hitchcock biographer Laurent Bouzereau. Please heighten your tension appropriately!

The first-ever illustrated biography of the master of the thriller, Hitchcock, Piece by Piece, coincides with the 30th anniversary of his death and the 50th anniversary of the release of Psycho. Many of the photographs, from Hitchcock’s own archive, have never been published before, and the package includes removable memorabilia, such as letters, memos, and snapshots, which flesh out this portrait of a film icon. .

This book includes all of his more than 50 feature films, as well as his eponymous television series. Author Laurent Bouzereau puts this incredible canon into perspective, examining the master’s life thematically: archetypal anti-heroes; complicated women; charming villains; and something Bouzereau calls “the Hitchcock touch”—elements of film that are, quite simply, Hitchcockian. .

Director and producer Bouzereau has collaborated with Martin Scorsese, Mel Brooks, Steven Spielberg, and Clint Eastwood—among other Hollywood legends—on more than 60 documentaries about classic films.
