The Lightning Thief gets his words from screenwriter Craig Titley!

Craig Titley is a screenwriter and producer who began his film career as a production assistant on feature films and TV movies. After a brief stint as an executive for Nickelodeon’s feature film division, he went on to become a writer of family films including the live-action Scooby-Doo movie and Cheaper By the Dozen starring Steve Martin. Both films grossed more than $100 million domestically and spawned successful sequels.

After working for a decade in the family film genre, Craig spent three years honing his craft while pursuing a Ph.D. in Mythological Studies from Pacifica Graduate Institute, home of the Joseph Campbell library and archives.

Titley’s current projects include a big budget adaptation of Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea with Sam Raimi producing and Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, based on the first from a series of popular “Percy Jackson novels about a boy who discovers that the Greek gods and monsters are alive and well and walking among us. Chris Columbus (director of the first two Harry Potter films) directed the film, which opens February 12.
