Andrew Potter is a video producer, musician, performer and digital storyteller. He spent 15 years as a juggler and street performer in San Francisco. His work with Wheeler Cole as the High Street Circus earned them 1st prize in the San Francisco Street Performers Competition, as well as winners of the "Premio Strada" performing competition in Milano, Italy and numerous tours in Japan and Canada. As a video producer, his PSA for kids "Johnny Seatbelt Sez..." won national recognition as an outstanding public service announcement for children. He has also produced many video shorts for entertainment, non-profit and promotional venues.As a musician, he is a virtuoso guitarist, and is currently touring folk clubs around New England, performing his humorous and eclectic blend of old jazz and folk tunes, fingerstyle instrumentals and original songs. Andrew's current work, "The Road to High Street" is a multimedia show incorporating live performance, music and storytelling with projected video and composite imagery.

As a follow up to last week's episode the over-sexualization of girls, today we will hear from two 17 year old teenagers, a young man Alex Hare, and a young woman Alice Wilder. They will talk about their own experience in growing up in this media driven culture. Ironically, they met at a Harry Potter convention.
Alex Hare is a senior in high school. He has interests in a wide variety of subjects such as music, math, space, travel, and drinking exorbitant amounts of green tea and coffee. He is an active member of his school's Student Council and is involved in various musical groups. Alex will be studying engineering next year, and while he's excited for it, would also love it if adults would stop asking him if he has his entire future figured out. Alex’s social activism began through his interest in Harry Potter.
Alice Wilder, 17, lives in Charlotte, North Carolina and attends Northwest School of the Arts. She has been a blogger for SPARK summit since June 2012. SPARK summit is a girl-fueled activist movement to demand an end to the sexualization of women and girls in media. Alice is the editor-in-chief of her school newspaper, Intermission. She has been featured on Upworthy and the Charlotte Observer.
