Mothers In Charge, "It Takes A Village"

Mothers In Charge is an organization comprised of mothers, aunts, sisters who have lost a loved one to violence. The mission of Mothers In Charge is violence prevention, education, intervention and advocacy for youth, adults, and families. Our goal is to reach out and assist families that have been affected by violence. We mentor young men and young ladies to help make a difference in their lives. We also mentor young men that are housed in PICC Prison. We work with women at Riverside Prison with a curriculum called Thinking For A Change, "Heal A Woman, Heal A Nation". We found out through mentoring young ladies and young men, that there moms and or dads are incarcerated and that's part of the reason for them being so angry and lashing out on society.
