A narrative of the following, with personal thoughts: A short clip came on news preview, talking about the drug epidemic in our society today, and it showed a little girl (probably not even two years old), in the grocery store, holding her mother’s hand, tugging on her mother’s arm, while her mother lay on the floor, passed out from a heroine overdose.  The baby repeatedly tried to pull her mother up, to wake her… to get any response – and it was just heartbreaking.  On a lighter note, listening to our local KLTY (Contemporary Christian radio station) last week, I heard a caller describing her daughter, who was running for school President, and how she took her poster in – which they had spent hours and hours decorating – to hang it up and then saw the other girl’s poster, which was very plain, and she took some of the decorations off of her poster and put them on the other girl’s poster so that it would look better.  That still brings tears to my eyes… to think of how selfless that child was being (all she was thinking of was making the other girl feel better).  And then, last night on a Nightline episode (which I watched on Hulu) they showed footage of that little four-year old Syrian boy, who I’m sure we have all seen, with his face and body all covered in mud, and blood across one side of his forehead and little cheek, arms cut from the rubble; and then they introduced a little six-year old boy named Alex, who wrote a letter to President Obama, asking if he could find that Syrian boy and bring him to his family, so they could feed him take care of him, and he could share his toys with him and teach him to ride a bike.  CHECK OUT:  https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/aug/18/boy-in-the-ambulance-image-emerges-syrian-child-aleppo-rubble http://www.insideedition.com/headlines/18827-boy-6-writes-obama-about-syrian-ambulance-boy-can-you-please-go-get-him
