Interview with addiction expert David Chalanor    As society shows us, the confusion and emotions that surround the subject make it very hard to know how and why and when to ask for help. Addictive processes are an issue of connection- connection to oneself and connection to the world. So its a threefold challenge: physical health, emotional health and spiritual health. The last one, spiritual health is about connection, ‘spirit’, about how we breathe in this world-comfortably or not!

So much is written and argued about in the field that is very challenging to find a way through. The key is to find a guide, a mentor, someone with whom you feel connected. This is often more important than any other criteria and is frequently forgotten. Relapse and collapse is so common and many in the field fail to remind us of this truth- the connections are frequently more crucial than the modalities on offer- and there are so many.
