Wait Til My Bobby Gets Home. It’s a night of nostalgia as rock ‘n’ roll legend Darlene Love comes to Queens. Back in the 60’s she was most known for singing “He’s a Rebel” as part of a group called The Crystals. Backup singing was her thing at that time that included the Ronettes’ “Be My Baby.” On her own, Love made the movie scene with the Lethal Weapon series. There will be a guest performance by The Fabulous Coasters. You know, “Yakety, Yak,” “Charlie Brown,” “Poison Ivy,” and “Down in Mexico.”
Darlene will be performing at Queens Performing Arts Center located at Queensborough Community College in Bayside on October 15 at 3pm
Darlene recently performed for 10,000 loyal Elvis fans at the 16th annual European Elvis Festival in Germany and featured songs that she recorded with Elvis in the 1960’s
Stying in NY, she will be part of Joy Behar’s “Friends With Benefits” fundraiser at Guild Hall in East Hampton on Sunday, Sept 3rd.
Darlene then gears up to perform 70 concerts during the holiday season that will kick-off in October thru January
In addition she will be guest appearing with the group Human Nature on a PBS pledge special airing on (Nov 25-Dec 9th)
