Someone said "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." I was having a conversation with an individual I know about their troubles.

This person is in great agony of soul. In the midst of our conversation, I mentioned the fact we're to be greatful that  that things are not much worse that they are. I find that adding perspective to our experience allows us to identify GOD'S GOODNESS on our behalf. In the prayer given to the disciples we are taught,

“’And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil.’” (Matthew 6:13) Then in another passage, “Now Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, ‘Oh that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and that You would keep me from harm that it may not pain me!’ And God granted him what he requested.” (1 Chronicles 4:10)

We can see the potency of prayer to be delivered from evil and harm, but how would one know? After all, the proof of the effectiveness of this kind of prayer is mostly in what doesn’t transpire. How do you tally all the things that didn’t happen, all the evil avoided, all the harm averted? Pretty hard.

So be it. I’m quite willing to settle for that—it’s an okay trade-off to me. I have a strong suspicion that if I actually realized all that would have happened to me and my family without prayer I’d be shocked. It makes one wish to pray more considering some of the evil and harm that one has encountered  Join us for live prayer at 6:00 AM, Mon.-Fri. Dial 714.459.3963.
