A'Ishah Karriem who goes by the name A'Ishah Songstress is an independent songwriter, composer, vocalist, pianist and music publisher from Chester, PA. She grew up listening to her mother's classic R&B hits and have always had an old soul and pure love for music. A'Ishah biggest influences were Michael Jackson, Jackson 5, Whitney Houston, Janet Janet Jackson, Tupac Shakur, Lauryn Hill and Destiny's Child. Her 1sr public performance was when she was 10 years old at her 5th grade talent show where she sang Aaliyah's "One in a million" and received a standing ovation. During the years 2011-2015 A'Ishah abruptly stopped pursuing her music due to a severe depression she suffered during that time period. This was due to constant negativity she was surrounded by, never receiving support for her music from family and loved ones and other personal issues. After a spiritual rebirth she re-emerged during late 2015 ready to shop her songs to every R&B and Pop singer in the industry. She's currently shopping her R&B/ Hip-hop single "Jealousy" with hopes that a mainstream artist will pick it up. A'Ishah Songstress is also the founder and owner of ASKM Publishing, her independent music publishing company.
