Byrne is a neonatologist and a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics and is the producer of the film Continuum of Life and the author of Life, Life Support and Death, Beyond Brain Death, and Brain Death is Not Death. He spends time defending those who are unable to communicate on their own behalf. He warns the public about what can happen to them or loved ones if they are not aware of what is actually happening before it happens. He has presented testimony on life-death issues to nine state legislatures and openly opposed Dr. Jack Kevorkian. Dr. Byrne has authored articles against euthanasia, abortion, and "brain death" in medical journals, law literature and lay press. He is a steadfast pro-life advocate and supporter of American Life League.
