God is for God. Who are you for?

I wish I had a penny for every time I heard someone tells me - not that the Lord loves me, that He will sustain me, or that He is pleased with me when I do well - but that God is for me.

I just wonder if we really understand what it means to be called "according to His purpose."  We are not the end of God's purpose; at our best, we can only be part of the means by which God accomplishes what seems good to Him.

God does reward His servants, but the real benefits of service to God are not realized under the sun.
