Open to God, Despite Coming or Present Disaster

    in Religion

Serving God, in a manner maintaining Heaven as the objective, requires the ability, even a willingness, to confront and overcome adversity.  I'm not talking about the popular "God knows what you're going through and He will bring you out" approach to troubles, but rather the manner of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, who answered King Nebuchadnezzar's threat (promise) to burn them alive thusly:

"If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.” Daniel 3:17-18

We are to "endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ."  During combat, the good soldier, under fire, does not refuse the orders of his commander, or close his heart; he remains open to that voice of authority, as part of his commitment to serve.

Similarly, we should not allow the "light afflictions" of this life should not close our hearts to God. Instead, despite the natural tendency toward self-defense which would close us off from any source of pain, we should train ourselves to not only see Christ in our disasters, but also strive even harder to reach out to Him in our distress, knowing what can occur if we but touch the hem of His garment...

You've Played Everything Else; Time to Play the Man

    in Religion

We have a softening society, one that seems more feminine and less firm and reliable with each passing day.  We have bought into the importance of self-esteem, that happiness is essential, and that every man should get in touch with his inner child...or inner female.  How's that workin'?

Not surprisingly, while the Bible challenges all men to be sensitive to women and children, it also STRONGLY admonishes them to be neither women nor children.

In this time when "feelings" seem to matter so much, the timeless truth is roles matter so much more.  For those who want to see truth prosper and prevail, there is a clear edict, and that from the Most High: Play the Man.

We need personal honesty, and a lessening of fear, if anything we do will have any chance of pleasing God.

Jesus Christ is the Food everyone needs for the Journey:

John 6:50 This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, so that one may eat of it andnot die. 51 I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.” 52 Then the Jews began to argue with one another, saying, “How can this man give us His flesh to eat?” 53 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves. 54 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. 55 For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. 56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.

Loving God Enough to Leave Others God Loves Alone

    in Religion

Among many human failings the saint of God must overcome is knowiing what is, and what is not, his concern.

It is easy for a man to want to know what God requires of others or, worse yet, to believe he knows and to the point that he believes he should regulate the behavior of his fellow saints.

The truth is somewhat different.  While God establishes men as examples for others, no man truly has charge of another.  All answer to God...and the questions he answers to the Almighty are rarely anyone else's business.

Choose Ye This Day! The KINGDOM of God, or the HELL of Man!!!!

    in Christianity

November 4, 2014 will be, according to the political commentators, an important day. The control of both Houses of Congress hangs in the balance. What difference will it make to the vast majority of us? Regardless as to who controls the Senate or House, will it have any immediate impact upon us? Has it ever had an immediate impact upon the everyday citizen?  Is GOD a Republican? Does the LORD endorse Democrats? There is a great deal of nervousness in all the major camps tonight! The big money donors, the members of Congress, would be members of Congress, and a host of hotly contested Governor’s races. Regardless as to how the elections turn out, will you be happy if your party wins, or will you be devastated? Listen in as Dr. Williams decisively speaks to this issue and shares with the listeners, why he still believes that since the Resurrection 2000 years ago, JESUS HAD/HAS/and will ALWAYS have the LAST WORD!

Is God Made in the Image of Man?

    in Spirituality

Today’s topic title “Is God Made in the Image of Man”  Many of you saw the title and did a double take.  You probably said she has that backwards, however I didn’t.  Down through the ages man has been given many images of a supreme being.  As I mentioned in the episode called “Where is God?” I had this picture of God as a great and glorious paternal figure living somewhere on a throne in the sky.  To add to that he was white, with white hair and long beard.

What is your concept of God?  What does it mean to be made in God’s image or is that image based on our limited human mind and what we perceive.  Join me and my guest Bonnie W. Kaye, http://MyJourneyToTheOtherSide.com, for this interesting discussion

Unless There is Fear, There is no Salvation

    in Religion

The idea is simple.  God's admonitions against fear are taken out of context.  Everyone who does not Him should be afraid...very afraid.

You're Uncertain? Then What Did You Come to See?

    in Religion

Uncertainty.  One of the most consistent aspects of life, for, when even a man's next breath is not promised, he has no idea of what will happen next.

Of course, many now believe that we live in uncertain times; however, since man's Fall in Eden, when has that ever NOT been the case?

Of course, THE life is far from uncertain; only THIS life is filled with vicissitudes. People who are focused on the destination are less troubled by the uncontrolled adjustments in their journey.
