I do not believe many would challenge the faith of Job.  Nor would they argue that there is much that Job can and does teach regarding faith from the record of how he handled his ordeal.  Yet the word “faith” does not appear anywhere in the book of Job.

However, the word “trust” appears seven times in the book of Job.  Actually, 5 different Hebrew words are translated as “trust” in Job.

I have particular interest in the word translated “trust” found in Job 13:15, because of the strength of Job’s declaration, Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.

Of what was Job speaking?  And how did we become convinced of Job’s “faith” when that word does not appear anywhere in his book, nor do the words “faith” and “Job” appear anywhere in scripture?
