Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. (Psalms 23:4 KJV)
Neither King David nor I know of a salvation experience that does not include walking through difficult times. Unfortunately, it is not clear that all of God’s people believe that deep, personal difficulty is an integral part of the journey, even though it is written, Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. (2 Timothy 3:12 KJV)
However, persecution in life does not necessarily mean death by persecution. Also the shadow of death is not death itself. David understood this. The point is this: walking with Christ will place you on a difficult path, fraught with evils. Yet it is the path where He is; if you choose not to walk there, you may avoid some troubles, but you shall avoid His presence.
So, are you ready to take a walk?
