Affirmative Action - Outdated or Still Necessary?

Today, on Social Issue Friday we will discuss Affirmative Action.  Is it time for it to end?  Is racism still all powerful in America?  Have blacks and other minorities been given enough time to stand on their own two feet?  Is white privilege so entrenched in our country that the minority will never get a fair treatment until the minority becomes the majority?  What’s your opinion?
