Addictions come in many forms.  People compulsively use drugs, gamble, shop, use social media, and engage in sex.  Nearly always, this is done in reaction to being emotionally stressed, whether or not there is a physical condition present.  We won't consider the debate regarding whether addiction is a "disease."  We will, however, consider the power and purpose of using spirituality as a healing tool.

Why is spirituality such a wonderful force for good? One reason is that it recognizes there’s a power governing the universe that is greater than the limitations of the self. There’s a belief in an interconnectedness of all living beings. The desire and pursuit of understanding, peace, self-knowledge, meaning, and purpose in one’s life becomes primary goals for those on a spiritual path. It is this quest that can help those suffering from addiction find freedom.

What are you addicted to?  Consider this as we discuss how walking a consistent spiritual path can help you!
